Chasing the Waves, Building Together: KEPUNI's Island Team Building Comes to a Close
To ease the daily pressure on our employees, enrich their work-life balance, and strengthen communication, collaboration, and team spirit, KEPUNI organized a two-day-and-one-night team building trip to Shengsi Islands — a nationally recognized scenic archipelago. Leaving behind our busy desks for a moment, we headed to the lush mountains and clear seas, soaking in the team's warmth among the sea breeze and laughter, gathering strength to push forward.
In the early morning, everyone gathered at the Shanghai headquarters and boarded the bus to set off. Along the way, we passed by the magnificent East China Sea Bridge, taking in the sweeping views of the offshore wind farms and Yangshan Port, with the vast scenery of mountains and sea stretching out before us. After arriving at Shenjiawan Pier, everyone switched to a passenger boat and sailed out into the open water. During the 80-minute sea voyage, the cool sea breeze brushed past our faces, and everyone shed the tension of work, chatting and laughing along the way — the atmosphere was relaxed and lively.
After reaching the island, a delicious seafood feast was waiting for us. Shengsi, with its reputation as the "Fishery Granary of the East China Sea," is abundant with fresh seafood — swimming crabs, mantis shrimp, ribbonfish, shellfish, and more. The flavors of the island comforted everyone after the long journey. As the seafood hit our tongues, colleagues sat together, talked about work and life, and drew even closer. After the meal, everyone checked into the homestay and settled in.
In the afternoon, island activities were full of variety. Some colleagues boarded fishing boats for a hands-on deep-sea fishing experience. Becoming temporary fishermen, everyone took part in pulling the nets, watched the bustling harbor scenery, and felt the vastness of the sea and the joy of hard work by the water. The seafood caught could be taken home as a memento or sent to the restaurant to cook up a fresh meal, making it a full-on island adventure.
Others explored Zuoa Coastal Road, one of the most scenic paths in Zhejiang, with green hills on one side and blue seas on the other. Everyone walked, took photos, and immersed themselves in the island's unique charm. Then we headed to Jihu Beach, where the endless ocean spread out before us. Everyone took off their shoes and walked on the soft sand, listening to the waves, and letting go of stress. Colleagues who are usually focused on equipment R&D and busy with their jobs put down their guard by the sea, played, and chatted — getting to see each other's lively, real sides outside the workplace.
As night fell, a bonfire party on the beach kicked off with great energy. The fire rose up against the backdrop of the night sky and the ocean. Everyone sat around it, singing and dancing, laughter echoing on the beach. With no departmental boundaries or role distances, everyone let themselves be fully relaxed. This joyful time at the bonfire party is a vivid reflection of KEPUNI's humanistic care: the company values every employee's work, but also cares about everyone's well-being, hoping the team has the opportunity to relax and connect after hard work. The party ended, and everyone returned to the homestay, falling asleep peacefully to the sound of the waves.
The next morning, after breakfast, everyone checked out and began the second day's island exploration. People wandered freely — visiting Donghai Fishing Village to admire colorful fishermen's mural paintings, immersing in the island's rich cultural atmosphere; or heading to Wanghai Park for a seaside walk and tasting local specialties like fried fish balls and fried squid. Many rented e-bikes to circle the island at their own pace, enjoying the island's everyday charm. Some visited the seafood market, picking fresh produce as gifts for family and friends.
After a brief free exploration, everyone enjoyed a local island lunch. Carrying full memories, we boarded a boat from Sijiao Pier to leave the island, returned to Shenjiawan Pier by boat, then took the bus back to Shanghai, bringing this Shengsi team building trip to a close.
The waves may be boundless, but our team's strength is limitless. This Shengsi trip was more than just a physical and mental break — it was a team-building exercise. Two days together broke down the communication barriers of daily work, building understanding and trust between colleagues, and making everyone feel the warmth of the KEPUNI family.
The end of team building marks the start of a new journey. In the future, all employees will take the joy, trust, and team strength gained from this island trip, and channel them into hard work at their posts. United and moving forward side by side, we will face workplace challenges with greater passion and energy, gathering our forces and building a better future for the company.
